Works by major artists like [DaVinci](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/computerfriendly-vaporizers), Monet, Michelangelo, [Van Gogh](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/van-gogh-museum-solidsuit) and Botticelli are featured on these quality switch covers. If you have a sense of humor, you’ll enjoy Michelangelo’s David, included in the photos here, which has a 'light off, light on' text on his groin area. Turn it on, and it goes up, turn the light off, and it goes down. Funny! All the [fine art switch plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/22-system) are handcrafted using a classic decoupage technique. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Fine Art Decor:** There is an opportunity for artists to leverage their work for home decor items beyond traditional canvas or print, such as fine art switch plates. - **Humorous Home Decor:** There is a growing demand for unique and humorous home decor items, evidenced by the popularity of the David-themed switch plate. - **Handcrafted Home Decor:** There is an opportunity for artisans to sell handcrafted home decor items made using traditional techniques, such as the decoupage technique used for these switch plates. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Fine Art:** Fine artists can expand their reach and revenue streams by exploring non-canvas applications for their work, such as fine art switch plates. - **Home Decor:** Home decor companies can capitalize on the trend of unique and humorous decor by offering items like the Michelangelo's David-themed switch plates. - **Artisanal Crafts:** Crafters and artisans can tap into the demand for handcrafted items by offering home decor products made with traditional techniques, such as decoupage used for these switch plates. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Easy-to-Install Outlet Covers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/switch-plate-set.md) - [Unseen Artist Masterpieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/michelangelos-untold-works.md) - [Socket-Concealing Light Switches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/l1-switch-system.md) - [Traveling Fine Art Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/get-out-there.md) - [Luminous Tile Art Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balera-collection.md) - [Painting-Inspired Electrical Outlet Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/22-system.md) - [Iconic Artwork Watch Collaborations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artful-watches.md) - [Instrument-Inspired Wall Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/louis-collection-by-sara-schoenberger.md) - [Striking Sculptural Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculpture-candle.md)
