# Onion Lighting Cibola Pendant and Table Light Are Great For The Avid Cook By Alexandra Choli | Published 2009-04-06 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/Cibola-Pendant-Cibola-Table-Light-Dominic-Bromley-Onion-Light-White-Bone-Ch References: [scabetti](http://scabetti.co.uk/) A culinary approach to lighting, the white bone china creations by Dominic Bromley, dubbed the Cibola Pendant and Cibola Table Light, resemble smooth, cross-cut onions. The carved pattern of [concentric rings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caleide) grant a striking effect to the Cibola Pendant. Shadows interchange reflective white surfaces, while the suspended onion lighting peals off its radiance through its translucent bone china. The grounded version presents a ready-to-cook lamp which shows off its onion layers on a glossy ceramic surface. The Cibola Table Light comes with dramatic black or rich burgundy details and a cylindrical, fine linen cap. The [hand-made lighting sculpts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-lighting-designs) definitely make the perfect gifts for the passionate chef, though they may not equally impress the strained housewife who will instinctively burst into tears in the sight of another onion, real or not. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 38% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Culinary Lighting:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop lighting solutions specifically designed for professional and home kitchens, incorporating unique culinary-inspired designs. - **Bone China Lighting:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the use of bone china materials in lighting fixtures to create a unique, translucent lighting effect with elegant patterns and textures. - **Hand-made Lighting:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Tap into the growing market demand for artisanal products by creating hand-made lighting fixtures that combine craftsmanship and functionality. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Examine how lighting can be integrated into interior design to enhance the ambiance and functionality of different spaces. - **Kitchen Appliances:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate lighting technology into kitchen appliances, such as range hoods or stoves, to provide better visibility during food preparation and cooking. - **Home Décor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop lighting fixtures that serve as both functional and decorative elements in home décor, allowing consumers to personalize their living spaces with unique lighting designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bakery-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/croissant-pendant-light.md) - [American Oak Pendant Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-bean.md) - [Experimental Ancestral Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kawabi.md) - [Metaphorically Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bilanciato-pendants.md) - [Geometric White Onyx Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/embrun-lighting.md) - [Recycled Material Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zbozhzha-pendant-light.md) - [Sound Absorbent Pendants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slice-pendant.md) - [Sustainable Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/corka.md) - [Exquisite Textured Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pendant-lamp1.md)
