The piece is composed of small pieces of toy alien and slides on [childhood play carpet](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rondin). The main idea artwork is a reflection of life through the children’s game. Marussiac describes a simple ritual of repentance. Toy aliens kneel, and must complete the cycle consisting of: waiting, repentance, waiting and fun. It is like an endless circle of life. Various types of rituals of repentance exist in most civilizations in the world. Alien Repentance showcases a quick moment of fun on a slide as a feeling short of happiness. In human life, there is also a similar need for play. This installation simulates the symbolic life, because the play is primarily a [small ritual in a parallel world](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/back-to-basics-ii). The artwork is not a parody of repentance rituals but raises the following question: "What is a repentance ritual in human life?" ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 38% | Activity: 16% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Conceptual Art Installations:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Exploring new ways to create immersive and thought-provoking art installations that challenge traditional perspectives. - **Reflection of Life:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Finding innovative ways to represent the complexities and experiences of life through artistic mediums. - **Symbolic Play:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Developing interactive and engaging experiences that provide a deeper understanding of symbolic rituals and their significance in human life. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporating technology and multimedia into art installations to redefine the boundaries of traditional artistic expression. - **Entertainment and Recreation:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating new forms of interactive play and experiences that blend virtual and physical elements to provide meaningful and introspective moments. - **Cultural Studies and Anthropology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Exploring the significance of rituals in different cultures and finding innovative ways to study and analyze their impact on human behavior and society. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Robotic Digital Surveillance Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/accept-all.md) - [Maze-Like Salt Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-path-of-memories.md) - [Human Connection-Themed Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/satellite-exhibition.md) - [Perception-Challenging Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/becoming-familiar.md) - [Thought-Provoking Interactive Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antibodies-installation.md) - [Oil Painting-Inspired Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antonio-santn.md) - [Whimsical Spirit Art Shows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anima.md) - [Artistic Gen Alpha Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moooi-carpets.md) - [Dynamic Immersive Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amongus.md)
