Adelaide is a photo series, captured by photographer Adelaide Ivanova, that chronicles the life of her 93-year-old grandmother, also named Adelaide. The photo series aims to confront the stereotypes surrounding old age by presenting the photographer's grandmother in a vibrant and complex light. As the elderly woman lives through her twilight years, her granddaughter uses her photographic skills to lend a voice to the joys and frustrations of being in your 90s.

The Adelaide photos were shot in Recife and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil over a period of ten years, resulting in a collection that looks like a photo album featuring a single subject growing and changing over a period of time.

For example, older photos show the 93-year-old grandmother performing yoga poses but more recent photos show her as being more sedentary.
