# Self-Balancing Suitcases The 90Fun Puppy 1 is Inspired by the Segway By Joey Haar | Published 2018-01-05 | World Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/90fun-puppy-1 References: [digitaltrends](https://www.digitaltrends.com/business/90fun-puppy-1-auto-follow-suitcase-ces-2018/?utm_source=feedly&utm_medium=webfeeds#/2) & [newswire](https://www.newswire.com/news/90fun-will-release-worlds-1st-self-balancing-auto-following-suitcase-20113529) Navigating through the airport with a suitcase is a hassle to say the least, so the 90Fun Puppy 1 gets rid of that chore entirely. The tech-laden travel accessory uses a driving system inspired by Segways to balance on its own, and it automatically follows its owner around (like a puppy) thanks to an advanced positioning system. Though the 90Fun Puppy 1 does come with a handle for manual pulling, its auto-follow is far more likely to get use from consumers. The [smart luggage system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luggical) has only two wheels, but like a Segway it leans forward in order to keep its balance, whether moving or at a standstill. In fact, Segway and 90Fun are strategic partners. On top of auto-follow, the suitcase can be summoned by its owner through a remote control command. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.8/10 - Popularity: 98% | Activity: 98% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [World](https://www.trendhunter.com/world) > [Travel](https://www.trendhunter.com/travel) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Self-balancing Luggage:** Developing self-balancing luggage systems that automatically follow their owners presents an opportunity for disrupting the travel accessories market. - **Smart Travel Accessories:** Creating technologically advanced travel accessories with features like auto-follow systems and remote control commands can disrupt the conventional luggage industry. - **Inspired by Segway:** Exploring the application of Segway-inspired driving systems in different industries, such as luggage, can lead to disruptive innovations and improved user experiences. ### Who This Affects Most - **Travel Accessories:** Integrating self-balancing and smart technologies into travel accessories has the potential to revolutionize the travel accessories industry. - **Luggage:** Incorporating self-balancing capabilities and advanced positioning systems in luggage can disrupt the traditional luggage market and enhance convenience for travelers. - **Personal Mobility:** Adapting Segway-inspired driving systems for personal mobility devices, beyond traditional segways, could bring disruptive innovations to the personal mobility industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [See-Through Ride-On Suitcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airwheel-suitcase.md) - [Rideable Carry-On Suitcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modobag-20.md) - [Tech-Equipped Suitcase Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oogo-smart-luggage.md) - [Hoverboard-Luggage Design Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trunk-car.md) - [Pet-Friendly Travel Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/petfriendly-carryon-suitcase.md) - [Stroller-Equipped Suitcase Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/easy-journey-suitcase.md) - [Stroller-Equipped Suitcase Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/easy-journey-travel-case.md) - [Trackable Smart Luggage](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casesafe.md) - [Tech-Friendly Carry-On Suitcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/monos-carryon-pro-plus.md)
