These pixelated rugs are the perfect addition to any hardcore gamer’s home. The Xbox controller rug is my personal favorite because of its interesting shape. Also among these amazing rugs are Super Mario and Zelda related characters, such as Link and the 1-Up mushroom. Every gamer loves 8 bit style games like Mine-Craft and Duck Hunt; 8 bit style serves as a reminder of a simpler time (childhood, not the 80s). The sweet pixelated memories of our youth give these rugs sentimental meaning. These awesome game-inspired 8-bit rugs definitely geek up any living space. Whether you’re a Pokemon person or a Zelda fan, these crocheted creations will look great beside your [game console](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-gaming-box). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.1/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 88% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Media](https://www.trendhunter.com/media) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Pixelated Gamer Rugs:** The trend of creating 8-bit video game-inspired rugs for gamers' homes. - **Geektastic Creations:** The trend of making crochet rugs inspired by classic video games. - **Sentimental Nostalgia:** The trend of incorporating pixelated memories of youth into home decor. ### Where This Applies - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating unique and nostalgic home decor items, such as pixelated gamer rugs. - **Crafts and DIY:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Developing new techniques and patterns for crocheting geektastic 8-bit style rugs. - **Gaming Accessories:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Designing and producing game-inspired rugs that enhance the gaming experience for enthusiasts. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Pop Culture-Themed Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/my-world.md) - [Gaming Console Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mario-cart-coffe-table.md) - [Video Game-Inspired Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pac-man-side-table.md) - [Washable Superhero Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/superhero-rugs.md) - [Pixelated Gamer Smart Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/govee-pacman-gaming-pixel-light.md) - [Video Game-Inspired Homewares](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/super-mario-home-adventure-life.md) - [Video Game-Themed Pixel Paintings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pixel-art-collection.md) - [Bold Gaming-Inspired Clogs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xbox-x-crocs.md) - [Puzzle Video Game Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sara-hyat-tetris-sofa.md)
