The renowned [crystal artists](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baccarat-x-hello-kitty-crystal-figurine) at Daum in France have been making high-end sculptures for collectors since the late 19th century.

Now, artist Chen Changwei has broken tradition, reinventing the [Chinese zodiac](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hennessy-paradis-zodiac-miniatures-collection) in a series of bizarre, surrealist busts in the tradition of pâte de cristal.

The crown jewel of the collection is the piece called &#147;*People Belong to Elephant&#148;* which is priced at $76,500 for the green coloured sculpture, and $38,500 for the orange coloured version.

The collection also includes the heads of a [stag and a dog](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shimada-koen) perched atop elongated necks, which are selling for $12,250.
