# Canyon Viewing Platforms The 72 Turns Canyon Scenic Area Has a Glass Walkway Over Nujiang River By Amy Duong | Published 2025-11-25 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/72-turns References: [archermit](http://www.archermit.com/) The 72 Turns scenic project creates a [cantilevered glass platform](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dongdan-grassland-sea-ruins-station) positioned high above the Nujiang River canyon, offering a direct and immersive view of the landscape below. The structure extends outward from the cliff to frame the sharp bends that define the surrounding terrain, drawing inspiration from the winding route of the nearby mountain road. Steel supports hold the transparent surface in place while keeping the overall profile light so the walkway appears to float. The walkway uses its geometry to echo the motion of the landscape and guide attention outward toward the river’s path. The arrival sequence leads visitors from solid ground to the [fully glazed platform](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/five-fragmented-cubes), creating a clear shift in atmosphere as the terrain drops away beneath their feet. The structure’s proportions allow wide peripheral views while maintaining enough stability for a steady circulation flow. Material choices focus on durability and performance in a [high-altitude climate](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/farrapona-geological), ensuring the platform can withstand extreme conditions without compromising transparency.
