# Chocolate-Inspired Furniture 70% Table by Anna Porunn is Inspired by a Delectable Dessert By Meghan Young | Published 2013-03-28 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/70-table References: [coolhunting](http://www.coolhunting.com/design/70-table-by-anna-thorunn.php) & [annathorunn.is](http://annathorunn.is/) The 70% Table is inspired by the designer's favorite dark chocolate. Even before taking in the name, people will recognize the the shape. The 70% Table looks just like a segmented chocolate bar despite the different colors it comes in (even the pink and blue options). As long as no one tries to break off a piece to eat, the design is [deliciously playful](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bug-table). Created by Icelandic product designer Anne Þórunn, who has an affinity for [whimsical home decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tivoli-collection), the 70% Table is much more subtle than some of her previous designs. Although it looks like a chocolate bar, it could easily be taken as a simple piece of furniture with some nice grooved detailing. It is made out of [solid oak](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boia). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.8/10 - Popularity: 11% | Activity: 5% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Chocolate-inspired Furniture:** The trend of designing furniture inspired by chocolate can offer a unique and playful approach to home decor. ### Where This Applies - **Home Decor Industry:** The home decor industry can explore the opportunity of creating chocolate-inspired furniture to attract customers who appreciate whimsical designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Candy-Inspired Cylindrical Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/candy-table.md) - [Cloud-Inspired Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cloud-tables1.md) - [Fluid Topographic Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-table.md) - [Elegant Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tangent-table.md) - [Geometric Cutout Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/designated-table.md) - [Topographical Recycled Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/two-coffee-tables.md) - [Danish Pastry-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sweet-art-collection.md) - [Coastline-Inspired Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/marea-low-table.md) - [Fabric-Like Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tablecloth-side-table.md)
