# 50-Caliber Bottle Openers Declare War on Thirst with This Bottle Opener Made From a Giant Bullet By Andrew Sztein | Published 2013-02-03 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/50-caliber-bottle-openers References: [woohome](http://www.woohome.com/home-gadgets/a-real-50-caliber-round-bullet-bottle-opener) & [thinkgeek](http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/f04d/) If you need to exterminate your thirst, then why not do it in homicidal style with some 50 caliber bottle openers? This bottle opener from ThinkGeek is made from a real life [Browning Machine Gun bullet](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/klaro-30-caliber-smoke-can-humidor). Just looking at the size of the bullet and thinking about the damage it could do to a human being, it's easy to see what sort of damage it will do to a [helpless bottle cap](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/davi-can). ThinkGeek also recommends adding googly eyes to the opener in order to make it less terrifying, which I think is sound advice. The bullet is also machine polished to ensure a long life of shooting out sobriety. 50 caliber bottle openers are the perfect way to declare war on thirst at your next party. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.6/10 - Popularity: 10% | Activity: 1% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Drinking](https://www.trendhunter.com/drinking) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Bullet-inspired Consumer Products:** Exploring the market potential for product designs inspired by bullets and firearms, such as 50 caliber bottle openers. - **Weaponized Aesthetics:** Leveraging the visual impact and intimidation factor of weapons to create unique and attention-grabbing consumer goods like bullet-shaped bottle openers. - **Novelty Bar Accessories:** Catering to the demand for quirky and distinctive items for the growing home bar culture, such as bottle openers made from unusual materials like 50 caliber bullets. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Consumer Product Design:** Exploring innovative designs in consumer products that draw inspiration from military and firearms aesthetics, as seen in unique bottle openers like the 50 caliber bullet opener. - **Bar and Beverage Accessories:** Developing novel and conversation-starting accessories for bars and beverages, such as bottle openers with unconventional designs like those made from large caliber bullets. - **Party and Event Supplies:** Providing party planners and event organizers with unique and eye-catching products like 50 caliber bottle openers to add a touch of excitement and novelty to their gatherings. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Decorative Bottle Openers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/decorative-bottle-opener1.md) - [Dynamic Mechanical Bottle Openers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ryan-k.md) - [Complimentary EDC Bottle Openers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-james-brand-titanium-bottle-opener.md) - [Hidden Bottle Opener Timepieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leverage-watch.md) - [Dynamic Curved Bottle Openers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dancing-opener.md) - [Bat-Shaped Wine Openers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wine-and-beer-openers.md) - [Branded Beer-Opening Nutcrackers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beeropening-nutcrackers.md) - [Wine Bottle Cork Trimmers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qwikcork.md) - [Full-Top Can Openers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/draft-top-pro.md)
