Philip Pearce has designed a phone that looks similar to a [Blackberry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clicks), but is as customizable as an [iPhone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amber-kb-1). There is a mass market filled with iPhone accessories. Everything from speakers to camera lenses can be purchased to increase the functionality of [Apple's](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iphone-4-concept) smartphone. The 4hone concept phone integrates a few of the more popular accessories into its design. The phone features a removable translucent keyboard, a speaker with a Micro SD card slot and a camera. Smartphone accessories sell like hotcakes, so it's reasonable to believe that a smartphone that comes with a bunch of add-on accessories out of the box would do pretty good with consumers. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 28% | Activity: 58% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **DIY Smartphone Customization:** The trend of personalized smartphone modification where users can add or remove features and accessories as per their choice. - **Integrated Smartphone Accessory Design:** The trend featuring smartphones with built-in, customizable accessories like speakers, keyboards, and cameras. - **Translucent Design Aesthetics:** The trend showcasing electronic devices with see-through or translucent designs, like the removable keyboard of the 4hone concept phone. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Consumer Electronics:** This trend presents a market opportunity for consumer electronics companies to offer customizable smartphone designs with integrated accessories. - **Smartphone Accessories:** This trend presents an opportunity for manufacturers of smartphone accessories to integrate their products with smartphones, offering consumers a more streamlined experience. - **Design Consultancy:** This trend presents an opportunity for design firms to work with smartphone manufacturers to create more customizable and visually appealing smartphone designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modular Component Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soul-phone-concept.md) - [Adaptable Tech Hardware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hone-pro.md) - [Detachable Component Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-smartphone-design.md) - [3D-Printed Modular Phone Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-sliding-system.md) - [Modular Point-and-Shoot Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-camera.md) - [Swappable Keypad Cellphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sidephone-sp01.md) - [Rotating Button Panel Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phone-one.md) - [Portable Clamshell Phone Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amber-kb-1.md) - [Mini Transparent Smartphone Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nothing-mini-phone.md)
