# Tripod-Inspired Furniture The 3-Pod Table by Francesco Rota is Sleek and Contemporary By Meghan Young | Published 2013-12-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/3pod-table References: [trendir](http://www.trendir.com/archives/007355.html) & [lemamobili](http://www.lemamobili.com/en/home-collection/tables/3-pod) For the most part, the 3-Pod Table looks like a traditional piece of furniture. The lines are [clean and simple](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/monumental-table), the color basic and the overall aesthetic would fit neatly into any existing home decor. Yet below the surface is a touch of something visually striking that sets the 3-Pod Table apart from its competitors. As its name suggests, its legs have been inspired by a tripod. Designed by [Italian master Francesco Rota](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ria-coffee) for Lema, the 3-Pod Table is sleek and contemporary with a classic touch. While the tabletop is made out of either [glass or lacquered wood](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soda-iced-table), the bottom is fashioned out of metal. Available in two styles, round and rectangular, it also comes in two colors: black and white. Overall, it is a fine furniture specimen. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.3/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 13% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Tripod-inspired Furniture:** Designing furniture pieces with legs that are inspired by tripod can add a unique element to traditional furniture pieces. - **Sleek and Contemporary Furniture:** Creating furniture pieces with clean lines and simple designs can appeal to modern customers looking for minimalistic home decor. - **Dual-colored Furniture:** Offering options for dual-colored furniture pieces can add a touch of variety and diversity to home decor collections. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate tripod-inspired furniture and dual-colored pieces for their clients seeking unique pieces in their homes. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture manufacturers can experiment with sleek and contemporary designs to cater modern home owners looking for minimalistic designs. - **Home Decor:** Home decor companies can explore the trend of sleek, contemporary furniture that offers unique aesthetic elements, such as tripod legs and dual-color features. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimal Rounded Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tres-collection.md) - [Wooden Table-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tidone.md) - [Creature-Like Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/octopus-center-table.md) - [Contemporary Elegant Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-table-designs.md) - [Haute Waterlily-Like Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lilypad-table.md) - [Curvaceous Abstract Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pet-table.md) - [Impactful Industrial Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/to-steel-side-table.md) - [Geometrically Informed Outdoor Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outdoor-table1.md) - [Pod-Inspired Bulbous Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pod-collection.md)
