Set to open just outside of Marfa, Texas is a new hotel with an expansive infinity pool, pods and safari tents. For this project, Liz Lambert, founder of Marfa’s bohemian hotel brand [El Cosmico](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/el-cosmico-project), teamed up with [Bjarke Ingels Group](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hungarian-natural-history-museum) and [ICON](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wolf-ranch), which has a contract with NASA to build homes on the moon and Mars. The 3D-printed hotel's form takes cues from the natural landscape it is surrounded by and it explores design in a way that goes beyond rectilinear forms. With rooms that boast curved walls, circular skylights and round bed platforms, this hotel promises to provide unforgettable stays. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.8/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 71% | Freshness: 15% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **3D Printing in Construction:** The advent of 3D printing in construction provides an opportunity for disruptive innovation through faster, more efficient and sustainable construction methods. - **Biophilic Design in Hospitality:** The use of biophilic design principles in hospitality spaces can create unique and immersive experiences by integrating nature and the natural environment into the built environment. - **Modular and Customizable Hotel Design:** Modular and customizable hotel design allows for flexible and personalized spaces that meet the specific needs of guests, potentially leading to increased satisfaction and repeat business. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Construction Industry:** The construction industry can leverage 3D printing to adopt faster and more sustainable construction methods, potentially reducing costs while increasing efficiency. - **Hospitality Industry:** The hospitality industry can explore biophilic design and modular, customizable spaces to provide unique and immersive guest experiences that stand out in a crowded market. - **Architecture Industry:** The architecture industry can push the limits of design and materials with 3D printing technology, creating innovative and iconic buildings that redefine what is possible in building construction. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Desert-Inspired Campground Hotels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/el-cosmico-project.md) - [3D-Printed Neighborhood Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wolf-ranch.md) - [Record-Breaking 3D-Printed Neighborhoods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/icon-and-big.md) - [3D-Printed Austin Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/michael-hsu.md) - [3D-Printed Home Prototypes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-tiny-house-lux.md) - [Multi-Storey 3D-Printed Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qr3d.md) - [Fully Recyclable 3D-Printed Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/biohome3d.md) - [Innovative Metaverse Hotels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/metaverse-hotel.md) - [Compact 3d-Printed Housing](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiny-house-lux.md)
