There are tons of examples of [additive manufacturing](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fibreseeker-3) being used to create life-saving, patient-specific implants, including [3D-printed bones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/exoskyn). Now, bioprinter manufacturer Allevi is hoping to touch even more lives with its Hyperelastic Bone.

Over a year ago, scientists from [Northwestern University](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/Bio-inspired-vision-systems) successfully developed a 3D-printed Hyperelastic Bone that boasts the ability to support bone regrowth in the body. Now, the 3D-printed bone is being made commercially available to researchers, so that implants may be made to repair damaged bones. The unique product is made up of mostly hydroxyapatite, which is same mineral that's found in teeth and bones.

The Hyperelastic Bone Kit is priced starting at $250 and includes a Hyperelastic Bone 3D Paint, a syringe, a metal drawing needle and other printing tools.
