# Gesture-Controlled Instruments The Titan Reality Pulse Turns Mid-Air Gestures Into 3D Music By Charlotte Joyce Kidd | Published 2015-11-04 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/3d-music References: [gizmag](http://www.gizmag.com/pulse-3d-music-controller/40193/) & [kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/52595655/pulse-discover-the-future-of-music-playing) The [Titan](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/Guardoc-Health) Reality Pulse is a 3D music controller that can take [touchless gestures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roli-piano) as well as direct contact and interpret them into musical notes. The 3D music maker resembles a [Roomba](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roomba-max-705-combo) vacuum cleaner more than it does a conventional instrument -- but it's actually an incredibly sophisticated digital music creator. There are seemingly endless possibilities for 3D music creation with the Pulse. For example, it can be programmed to make the sounds of several different instruments at once, with LED colored zones on the instrument indicating which part of its surface corresponds to which instrument. It can also recognize gestures, like strumming for guitar chords and stick tapping for drums. In other words, the Pulse can take an air guitarist and instantly turn them into a real guitarist. The 3D music maker is an incredible piece of technology, and although priced at $1200, it would make any musician incredibly happy. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 21% | Activity: 70% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **3D Music Creation:** The Titan Reality Pulse is revolutionizing music creation by interpreting touchless gestures into 3D music. - **Gesture Recognition:** The Pulse's ability to recognize gestures opens up new possibilities for instrument control and an immersive musical experience. - **Digital Instrumentation:** The Titan Reality Pulse demonstrates the potential for sophisticated digital instruments that merge technology and music. ### Who This Affects Most - **Music Technology:** The technology behind the Titan Reality Pulse presents opportunities for innovation in music production and instrument design. - **Virtual Reality:** The integration of touchless gesture control in the Pulse suggests disruption for the virtual reality industry, bringing interactive experiences to the next level. - **Consumer Electronics:** The Titan Reality Pulse showcases the potential for high-end digital instruments and highlights the demand for innovative consumer electronics. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Interactive Music Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sound-maestro.md) - [Tactile Interactive Music Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yamaha.md) - [Movement-Tracking Air Drums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-drums.md) - [AI-Powered Dynamic Guitars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lava-genie.md) - [Compact Bio-Synth Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pocket-scion.md) - [Contactless Electromagnetic Guitar Picks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kinetic-remote-control-guitar-pick.md) - [AI-Powered Piano Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roli-piano-system.md) - [Interactive Display-Equipped Synthesizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/love-hultn-x-lirona-synthboi.md) - [Music-Driven Pleasure Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/groove-thing.md)
