Unfortunately, these 3D books are not actually books, but instead advertisements for the [autobiographies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/autobiographer) of Anne Frank, Vincent van Gogh, Louis van Gaal and Kader Abdolah. They were created as advertising material to promote reading in the Netherlands.

In a very Mount Rushmore kind of way, each autobiography is represented by what looks like a [stone portrait sculpture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/split-bust) of the historical figure. Each page is a slightly different size than the one before it.

This concept is brilliant because it literally communicates the idea of looking inside these people’s minds to find out what happened in their lives. It’s just unfortunate that these are not [actual books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amusebouche).

The question is, if they were real books would this kind of design inspire you to read more?
