The home extension stretches out from a far more traditional [country home](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/borova-lada-cottage), highlighting the contrast between contemporary design and its roots. Russia's seasons are among the most polar in the world. The country's winters are famous for their frigidity, but it also rewards those living there with beautiful, warm summers. In order to take advantage of those summers, Russians have been fleeing to cottages and country houses during the summer for hundreds of years. 2071 Gazebo is designed to give its summer occupants a space for taking in the sweet summer without totally abandoning shelter -- the structure features [plexiglass walls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/missing-room) that can swing wide open to let natural breezes flow through. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 96% | Activity: 84% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Plexiglass Gazebos:** Plexiglass gazebos are a emerging trend that combines contemporary design with traditional roots, offering shelter while allowing for an open and airy outdoor experience. - **Home Extensions:** Home extensions are becoming more popular as people seek to add versatile and stylish structures to their existing properties. - **Seasonal Retreats:** Seasonal retreats, such as cottages and country houses, are gaining popularity as people look for ways to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture:** The architecture industry can explore the innovative use of materials, such as plexiglass, to create unique and functional structures. - **Construction:** The construction industry can tap into the demand for home extensions by offering customized solutions for homeowners. - **Hospitality:** The hospitality industry can capitalize on the trend of seasonal retreats by providing unique and luxurious accommodations for summer vacations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cozy Gaden Cabin Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/garden-pavilion.md) - [Serene Wooden Garden Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/garden-pavilion-1.md) - [Light Filtered Glulam Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paviljong-rosendal.md) - [Contemporary Backyard Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cosmo-pavilion.md) - [Retro Gabled Greenhouse Additions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-wiz.md) - [Lantern-Like Tea House Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tea-house-pavilion-1.md) - [Chequered Garden Tea Rooms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rashid-ali.md) - [Bamboo Luxe Pool Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/godai-pavilion.md) - [All-Glass Mesmerizing Compact Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beaufort-bushland-retreat.md)
