With its sleek design and more-than-impressive performance specs, the [electric hybrid sports car](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/theory-1) is a feat in innovative auto manufacturing. The 2012 Infiniti Emerg-E concept car is loaded with enough performance features to make even the staunchest gearheads think twice about an electric hybrid. At just 4.6 meters in length, it's not very big; however, the Emerg-E is equipped with two rear electric motors (and a backup three cylinder) that churn out a massive 402 horsepower and a top speed of 130 mph. That’s huge. Its aerodynamics are impressive too, with only a 0.34 drag coefficiency. Finally, this [rear-wheel drive sports car](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fenomeno) can do 0-60 mph in four seconds flat. For a hybrid sports car, the 2012 Infiniti Emerg-E concept is more steak than sizzle. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 21% | Activity: 52% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Electric Performance Hybrids:** The trend of electric performance hybrids is disrupting the traditional sports car market by combining high-performance capabilities with eco-friendly technology. - **Innovative Auto Manufacturing:** The trend of innovative auto manufacturing is creating opportunities for the development of sleek and high-performing electric hybrid vehicles like the 2012 Infiniti Emerg-E concept car. - **Sustainable Automotive Industry:** The trend towards sustainable automotive industry is driving the adoption of electric hybrid vehicles, offering a more eco-friendly solution to transportation. ### Who This Affects Most - **Automotive:** The automotive industry can explore disruptive innovation opportunities by investing in the production and advancement of electric performance hybrids like the 2012 Infiniti Emerg-E concept car. - **Electric Vehicles:** The electric vehicle industry is seeing disruptive innovation opportunities through the development of high-performance electric sports cars like the 2012 Infiniti Emerg-E concept. - **Alternative Energy:** The alternative energy industry can leverage disruptive innovation opportunities by focusing on the integration of eco-friendly technology in cars, such as electric performance hybrids. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Electrified Supercar Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nissan-hyper-force.md) - [High-Powered Electric Supercars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lexus-bev-sports.md) - [Streamlined Digital EV Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/infiniti-vision-qe-concept.md) - [Sculpted Electric Sports Cars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lexus-electrified-sport.md) - [Superyacht-Inspired EV Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acura-performance-ev-concept.md) - [Conceptual Electric Sportscars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/r32ev-concept-model.md) - [Elegant Electric Vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/genesis-x-speedium.md) - [All-Electric Racecar Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ariya-singleseater.md) - [Sleek Futuristic Electric Vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/maxout.md)
