A very interesting look into the honest, functional, and trend changing design of [Apple](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-drip) and where it’s design aesthetic comes from. While most people credit Apple’s Jonathon Ive with leading this revolution of design, this article points to the influences of vintage [Braun](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/braun-wireless-earbuds) products and most notably product designer Dieter Rams’ work.

From philosophy to execution these two designers are spot-on similar. Is this homage or plagiarism? My opinion is good design is recycled. I know you’ve heard it a million times but in an age where no idea is new, a tastefully executed design in the vain of a timeless design deserves it’s own recognition. At the same time we need to recognize where the inspiration comes from and not forget to give it the dues it is owed.
