Technically, it has no legs and no flat horizontal surface, yet it does succeed to assume the role of a table, suited only for items broader than the gaps within it. The [unique sculptural furnishing](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barricane-tables) was constructed on its side and gradually given shape by the arrangement of [several layers of flat sticks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vtna-table). Five different models are made from a choice of four materials including cardboard, laminated cardboard, melamine-faced plywood and American maple. Each offers its own aesthetic appeal, but the overall chaotic arrangement of the #035 Table by Tom Cecil remains consistent throughout the collection. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 43% | Activity: 51% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Sculptural Furnishings:** Opportunity for creating unique and visually appealing furniture pieces that challenge traditional design concepts. - **Layered Construction:** Innovation in assembling elevated surfaces without traditional legs and flat horizontal surfaces, offering new possibilities for table designs. - **Material Variation:** Exploration of different materials for table construction to create diverse aesthetic appeal and personalized designs. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in reimagining and reinventing traditional furniture concepts for unique and avant-garde pieces. - **Interior Decor:** Opportunity for incorporating sculptural furnishings and unconventional table designs into interior decor to create visually stunning and thought-provoking spaces. - **Woodworking and Carpentry:** Innovative approaches to crafting tables that challenge conventional construction methods, utilizing different materials and construction techniques. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Puzzling Geometric Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linked-side-table.md) - [Interlocking Puzzle-Like Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/connect-table.md) - [Herringbone-Inspired Wooden Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/herringbone-table.md) - [Sophisticated Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/monumental-table.md) - [Textile-Topped Table Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tumble-tables.md) - [Perplexingly Angular Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tadashi-side-table.md) - [Slender Geometric Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tong-side-table.md) - [Terrazzo Side Table Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balance-side-table.md) - [Artistic Juxtaposed Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/koroi-side-table.md)
