In his social justice lecture, John Levy explains why the world does not need more non-profit organizations. Instead, the activist and entrepreneur advocates for a social business solution.
In addition to claiming we confuse technological innovation with social progress, the speaker discusses how to use advanced technology to advance and scale social innovation. For him, that looked like combining his background in venture capitalism and his networks with his passion for social justice, and specifically climate change.
The social justice lecture says philanthropy is not enough and that if you want to scale your solution, you have to find different models you can use to ensure the largest number of people have access to the technology. Scaling is the key component to making a difference.
