Larry and Elizabeth Smith met at Southern Connecticut State University and have now been married for 37 years. Larry and Elizabeth Smith discuss overcoming challenges to live each day to the fullest. The couple turned a worst-case scenario into a life lived to the fullest potential, taking advantage of every opportunity presented to them. Larry spent 26 years working with law enforcement until being forced to retire with the development of Parkinson’s disease.
Elizabeth was offered a position as a professor of political science at the University of South Dakota. The couple took the journey, and relocated in their new town. Larry started Mr. Smith’s Bakery Café where he and his baking team produce salted baguettes and invented new breads each week. Larry's dedication to leading a full life is inspiring and moving.
