Allan Savory prefaces his global warming speech with bleak and eye-opening forecasts of humanity’s future as result of what he calls a “perfect storm.” This storm is said to be made up of overpopulation, climate change and overuse of fossil fuels—among others. He also brings up the issue of desertification which is the transformation of green earth into deserts.
As the president of the Savory Institute, Allan has dedicated his life to preventing desertification. In this keynote he offers education as to why grasslands are turning into deserts at the alarming rate they are. He urges that there is only one option for mankind to save these grasslands, and that is to mimic nature with a controlled group of lifestock. The livestock will ensure the natural cycle of life will occur and thus protect and preserve grasslands.
