From Retro Fantasy Cosplays to Crime Series Parodies

The decline of cable television has spurred many networks to stream their shows online; people will be happy to hear that is exactly what is happening with their favorite HBO TV shows. Th American premium channel has announced its new venture, HBO GO, a stand-alone streaming video service. It is said that people will be able to access streaming HBO TV shows through this service without buying a cable subscription. Cue the collective gasp.

NPR TV critic Eric Deggans talks about this new direction for HBO TV shows and television in general, "With more customers deciding to cut that cord and go without cable TV programming because it costs so much, that's going to increase the pressure for cable companies to offer ways to buy smaller groups of channels, which we call a la carte programming."
