Everyone can agree that as much as technology has improved our lives, it has also caused some problems; the ZeitLight lamp hopes to rectify one of them. Light may be essential to our survival physiologically, yet that doesn't mean we need to take a massive dose of it, as we are doing now.
As the designer Jeff Davidson sees it, since the invention of the electric light bulb we have been exposed to too much light, to which we are not accustomed from an evolutionary standpoint. The ZeitLight lamp hopes to combat the downside of artificial lights, which Davidson calls Bulb Effects.
Essentially, the ZeitLight lamp mimics the motions of the sun. Set it beside your bedside and it will help us transition from wakefulness to drowsiness naturally.
Implications - As our society continuously moves closer to the trumpeting the appeals of organic or holistic products in a home, goods that come out touting their appeal to naturalistic elements will continue to be in high demand. It allows consumers to feel like they are making a health conscious and environmentally friendly decision when purchasing one product over another.
