The YOKO Lamp by Anderssen & Voll is Inspired by Northern Light

Reminiscent of a jelly fish, the YOKO Lamp is at once eerie and delicate. Although not necessarily inspired by nature, it nevertheless challenges the archetypal design of table lamps. In place of the typical cloth lampshade is an bubble-like glass top while the base itself glows in place of a bulb. Overall, the YOKO Lamp has an ethereal presence that many homes could benefit from.

Designed by Anderssen & Voll for Foscarini, the YOKO Lamp may be conceptual, but it also very sophisticated. A perfect balance of simplicity and lightness, the YOKO Lamp was inspired by the image of a bubble about to burst, perhaps due to the heat of the light itself as well as the Northern light, which informed the choice of colors available.
