Many studios aim to create quiet environments to support connectivity between the mind, body and breath during a yoga class, but 'Silent Savasana' is reinventing sound in these sacred spaces.

A morning Silent Savasana session was recently held at the Red Rock Resort nightclub, featuring all the usual components of a yoga class, plus glowing blue headsets that made it possible for people to hear the instructor's voice, even when the guide became out of sight.

The use of headphones makes participants feel as though they're getting one-on-one private instruction, but in a less intimidating group setting. This also creates a greater opportunity for people to better observe their own practice, without distracting ambient noises.
