Xi Sinsong's Valentina Photos Reflect Famous Artwork

Vertical lines, abstract designs and geometric shapes make for an ultra-contemporary fashion shoot in Xi Sinsong's latest work, featuring fresh face Valentina. Pulling from the work of painter Piet Mondrian and various Dutch works of the 18th century, makeup artist Misha Shahzada transforms Valentina's face into a canvas of modern artwork.

With primary colors so bright and bold that they seem to have been added via computer animation, Valentina is absolutely stunning, and is at once half model, half comic book character, and completely cool. What I find most surprising in this shoot is how, despite the elaborate geometric designs, much of the model's face looks more "natural" than in most fashion shoots, giving a touch of honesty and true beauty to the series.

Xi Sinsong's set is the first I've seen of Valentina, but after checking out these powerful and intriguing shots, it hopefully won't be the last! Stats for Abstract Painter Portraits Trending: Older & Mild
