 The technology required for new heights of voyeurism has now been developed, allowing security scans to see right through clothing. Although created to enhance security measures at high-risk locations, such as airports, it’s very likely that if this knowledge falls into the wrong hands, it would quickly be exploited for the pleasures of peeping toms the world over. As it stands, even when used for security measures, there is debate over this invasive technology and the privacy infractions that might result from its use.  The Phoenix airport on Friday became the first in the United States to test new X-ray technology that can see through people's clothes and show the body's contours with blush-inducing clarity.
The device at Sky Harbor costs about $100,000 but is on loan from the manufacturer, American Science and Engineering Inc. of Boston, Melendez said.
