World Cup: Fashionistas Join the Frenzy Edit

If you’re reading very many blogs this month, it will be tough not to notice the World Cup hype has even stormed the wonderful world of fashion.  Several luxury designers are marketing their world cup designs, such as the $335 Dirk Bikkembergs Ladies World Cup Shoes.

“They call it the beautiful game, but do they mean on the pitch or off? Fashionistas from Armani to Dolce & Gabbana to Prada along with usual suspects Adidas, Nike and Puma have spun the World Cup soccer tournament into a giant fashion fest… Italian uber-tailor Giorgio Armani won the contract to design the after-game wardrobes of the English team, scandalizing the English tailors. Never before have David Beckham and his teammates donned off-pitch wardrobes designed by a non-Brit. But there is little doubt the team will look gorgeous in the navy-blue wool suits with flowing white shirts, light blue ties, brown belts and shoes.
