Polaris is a new deck of playing cards designed in a woodcut, illustrative style that gives an exciting new look to an age-old tradition. The deck is packed with features that will appeal to card players, magicians, designers, collectors and anyone who is looking for something to impress friends at their next poker or bridge game.
Designed by two brothers, a magician and a poker-playing graphic designer, Polaris is the second deck offered up by Vända Playing Cards. The duo just launched their product on Kickstarter to an enthusiastic initial response, raising $1300 in the first hour. The funding campaign will continue until January 27th, 2013.
The cards will be printed by the US Playing Card Company (maker of Bicycle and Bee brands) and will be produced to the same high-quality standards as those used by most Las Vegas casinos. In addition to printed cards, there are a number of accessories available including poker chips, wooden cards, wooden boxes, t-shirts, uncut sheets, posters, and wooden coasters.
