Wizmark, a cleverly named Maryland company, specializes in the development of "talking" urinal cakes as a means for advertising.
Incredibly direct if not off-putting, these cakes are being used for social good, and a cake specifically designed to discourage impaired driving has been created. This particular cake, which reads "Call a Ride" and "Get Home," reads out some fairly humanized statements meant to cause users to think twice about using their cars. These are being used in Michigan, in an initiative started by the police, and are placed in bars and restaurants.
Though it's unclear how effective the cakes have been in reducing impairment-related accidents, this is an incredibly creative solution to an important safety issue that has claimed the lives of far too many.
