Nickolas Kirkwood Shoes for Autumn/Winter 2008

Architectural shapes in footwear are going to continue to be avant-garde fashion into 2009. These winged stilettos are a fabulous example of a designer making the most of the trend.

London-based Nicholas Kirkwood has designed this collection of shoes with funky v-shaped platform soles and sky-high heels. Most of the shoes are done in black, but he also uses violet, teal and a few pairs sport bright blue snakeskin heels.

A few of the designs look like they have been inspired by bats…or perhaps, ‘Batman’? Come to think of it, the colours and details of the shoes do look sort of ‘superhero-esque’.
