The 'Who Runs a Marathon?' infographic is a photographic crash-course in long-distance running. Created by Column Five Media for KT Tape, the chart reveals that more than half a million Americans completed a marathon last year -- which is a pretty impressive feat.

It not only documents how many people ran last year, but also, how many finished the full race and which marathon was most likely to see the most finishers. The racers are broken down by age and gender as well.

Some of the more important tidbits are listed on the bottom portion of the graphic and detail the most common racing ailments and how to prevent them. Included in this list of injuries are conditions such as chafing, blisters, sun and windburn, aches and sprains and mental exhaustion.

Luckily for wannabe runners that may be attempting a race soon, Who Runs a Marathon? also includes helpful pointers to get one's body in tip-top shape in time for the long run.
