Transsexuals make their television debut on WETV’s ‘Sex Change Hospital’ this fall. With the controversy surrounding Prop. 8 in California and a deep and resounding call to acknowledge equal rights for all, we can expect to see this show climb the ranks—if for no other reason than sheer curiosity. This isn’t the first time transsexuals have stormed television. ‘America’s Next Top Model’ recently featured a transsexual, and Barack Obama acknowledged gender identity in his pledge for equality for all. ‘Sex Change Hospital’ features the cases of 12 transsexuals, both pre and post-op. Catch the episode featuring Stephanie and Ryan on Tuesday, November 18th for a closer look at the struggles of those whose lives are affected and improved from gender reassignment surgery.  Based in Trinidad, Colorado, this six-part series follows patients as they arrive in this Old West mining town—dubbed the 'Sex Change Capital of the World'—to see Dr. Marci Bowers, formerly Mark Bowers, who'll provide them with the ultimate life-changing operation. From retired grandfathers to construction workers, businessman to office managers, each shares their unique story of how they came to terms with their sexuality.
