Photographer Sophie Gamand explores her interest in the activities pet owners engage in with their canine compadres in her series 'Wet Dog.' The silly pictures show suds-uped dogs with a variety of facial expressions against a gray backdrop. Whether the wet dogs are relaxed, irritated, afraid or resigned to their fate, it is clear some pets can have many different reactions to being bathed. Gamand says her intention in this work is to bring out the human aspects within a dog.

Regardless of their reaction, regular bathing is an important part of a dog's overall hygiene. Whether this happens at the groomer's or in a tub at home, the first priority of pet grooming should be health rather than human ideals of beauty. Stats for Sudsy Puppy Photography Trending: Older & Mild
