The Zenyaren restaurant in Japan is serving up an extra weird food snack this summer—Cool Yakitori, or chicken that's been suspended in a chilled block of collagen.
Collagen is often worked into snacks for beauty purposes, but this dish is primarily made to keep diners cool in the heat of summer. Yakitori is often served hot, but the collagen of the Cool Yakitori is designed to be refreshing, as well as keep the encased meat extra juicy. It is a pretty unusual snack, but if you're adventurous enough, you could be one of the few customers that the Zenyaren restaurant serves this strange dish to, since the restaurant only whips up about 20 of these chilled chicken treats per day.
