Protesting war has gotten a very fashionable twist thanks to a range of notable industry leaders. Israeli born designer Nili Lotan is making a serious statement, using stunningly simple lines, graphic images, symbolic motifs. The flowing shapes and other attributes are all reminiscent of the 60’s and 70’s. Lotan delivers a delightful Spring 2008 Collection—a lot more creative than nude activism!
Ralph Lauren and Nautica alumna Nili Lotan thinks of the past when designing for the future. Memories of her childhood during the turbulent late 60s and early 70s provoked the Israeli-born designer to weave printed silk keffiyehs, Palestinian embroidery, and silkscreened war protesters into her Spring 2008 collection.
In addition to those striking symbols, Lotan rounds her collection out with lots of silk charmeuse, plunging necklines, and bohemian prints to give off the feel of the sixties-meets-seventies inspiration.
