Andrei Hakhovich runs a design studio in San Francisco called ‘Gradient Matter’ and creates this nature-infused walnut table. This table is called the ‘Branching Table,’ and is composed of walnut and bamboo plywood, creating a one-of-a-kind, branch-patterned table. It looks as though it has been pulled apart and stretched, barely hanging on by the branch structure underneath.

The bamboo and walnut materials are joined together with wood lap joints without any hardware. Plexiglass is used on the top to fill in the gaps between the branches, creating a flat, artistic surface. The contrast between glass and wood is lovely, excellent for housing coffee or a casual work space. The gaps on the sides of the table are hollow, creating a hint of depth. This piece is inspired by wood grain patterns and forces acquired by trees.
