The Waitomo Glowworm Grotto Will Make Any Vacation Brighter

A small wooden cave takes you through the Waitomo Glowworm Grotto and your eyes are open wide at what the insects can do. The caves are completely dark inside and all you can see are small dots of light in the distance. As you approach, you visually see what looks like the Milky Way above you.

In Waitomo, New Zealand you can tour the Waitomo Glowworm Grotto and see its beautiful insects create a visual masterpiece right before your eyes. The Waitomo Glowworm Grotto is home to a species of glowworm that only lives in New Zealand called Arachnocampa Luminosa.

Today when you tour the grotto, you float through 250 meters of majestic caverns including the Catacombs, the Banquet Chamber and the Cathedral. You finish the tour gazing into the Glowworm Grotto feeling as if you are in a completely new world.
