Don’t have all day to play World of Warcraft? Try setting up mines that catch users during their daily and mundane browsing, causing the mines to self-destruct and create data havoc. Rack up experience points, slay enemies, and basically wage information war online. PMOG or passively multiplayer online games, is part of Justin Hall’s master thesis. “We’re giving people tools to wage information and routing war online,” Hall says. To get started go to www.pmog.com, download the browser plug-in which adds a layer of data and interactivity to your browser. Once you go through signing up and dealing with the site’s beta red tape, and finally get set up, you can bury treasures on web pages, set booby traps, and even plan out more complex missions that all result in fun messy havoc online. The PMOG site is still in beta, but expect it to become the next big trend. References: pmog, wired Filed In: |
