Just when you think there can’t be any new watch designs, one shows up. Fabrice Gonet designed the Vulcania - not after Spock - but after vulcanized tires - a steampunk homag. Hours are on the wheel, minutes on the dial, day in a small window. And all the mech is visible through the sapphire glass windows.

Each aspect of the time is viewed in its own unique way. The hours has a Price is Right style rotating wheel and the minutes are viewed on a circular dial. A small window will also display the current date. Sapphire glass panels on the front and back and side port holes allow for all of the steampunk-y innards to be viewed. It is extremely limited edition with only 11 watches being manufactured. It will be unveiled in Switzerland at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie this April. (dvice)
