The Volvo On Call app has been updated to work with wearable platforms Android Wear and Apple Watch. This app gives owners the ability to do things like set a timer for their heat and air conditioning, so they can step into a vehicle that's comfortable. Drivers can also check their fuel level and expected range, features designed to compete with those offered by BMW and Volkswagen's own wearable integrations.
The app also allows owners to lock and unlock their cars, and helps them find their cars in packed parking lots.
This app is a nod to the growth of wearable technology and the increasing understanding of its applications in the auto world. With more car manufacturers looking to integrate wearable tech support into vehicles, it was only ever a matter of time before Volvo jumped on board.
