Volkswagen ‘2-Liter’ Microcar

Volkswagen’s ‘Two-Liter’ eco-car is angling to be the best in its category, boasting a killer 117 MPG. The microcar is based on the Up! concept, and its name is derived not from the engine it contains but from its incredible fuel consumption: two liters per 100 kilometers.

The Two-Liter features tandem seating and will be shorter than its Up! concept cousin. It’s rumored that this iteration will enter production faster than the original Up! concept even though Volkswagen has confirmed that the Up! will be on the market in 2010.
