VizWiz is an app for the visually impaired.

Developed by the ROI HCI Group, the app allows for visually impaired and blind people to take a photo on their phone of a physical object, record a question about the object by talking to the phone, then send it off to await an answer. The information is sent to web workers or IQ Engines who then determine an answer.

Although developed and designed as a tool for people who are visually impaired, this is not the limit of VizWiz. Anyone can take a photo of anything, from instructions in a foreign language, to a model of an unknown car and in minutes will have a spoken detailed answer of their query.

This is just the beginning of technology being altered and developed to accommodate all types of people. Stats for Blind Helper Apps Trending: Older & Chilly
