Brazilian fast food chain Giraffas noticed that 90% of their customers play with their smartphones while eating, so as part of the promotions for the FIFA World Cup 2014, the chain turned its green trays into a miniature virtual soccer field.

The tray paper was printed to look like a lush green soccer field, and included a small orange strip that could be ripped off and balled up into a soccer ball. A customer's smartphone functioned as the goalie and made use of the phone's the accelerometers, front cameras and microphone. With the smartphone goalie set up, a game of finger soccer could be played alone or with a friend, by flicking the paper ball at one of three spots on the phone's screen.
