The Vionnet Spring 2014 Women’s Collection uses men's tees as a focal point. The tees are clean and neatly tucked under violet dresses and robin’s egg blue jackets. Goga Ashkenazi cuts her shirts into column gowns and sleeves, which are then draped in delicate layers of fine tulle and are bound at the waist for definition.
The collection fuses together what’s exclusively feminine with male wardrobe staples, creating an interesting contrast between gendered garments. The white tee-shirt is also framed against draped patterned skirts in gray and beige colors. We see white fabric used as headscarves and toga-inspired dresses as well, and the collection overall makes use of the white tee-shirt in the most versatile ways, proving that it can literally do anything.
