Think twice before you chuck out that vinyl that has been collecting dust in your (or maybe your parents) attic.  You just might be able to turn it into the next fashion it item.  James DesRocher has done just that by combining his love of fashion and music into his newest business venture as an accessory manufacturer.  DesRochers’ VLING comes in every hip shape you can imagine and is also available in limited editions made from coloured vinyl he has specially manufactured in San Francisco. Items range in price from $14.99 - 19.99

DesRochers began cutting precise, detailed shapes such as horses, pirate ships and skulls out of old and damaged records. His jewellery line, Vling, a combination of the words vinyl and bling, was born. About two inches in size, the statement necklaces and earrings are large so DesRochers can create intricate details on the brittle vinyl. But the designer also wants people to look closely at the texture of each piece. (thestar)
