ViewRL is a Visual Display of Social Media Links

By: geth vaughan - Published: • References: viewrl
ViewRL is a Web-based viewing platform that simplifies Twitter URLs by showing them in an easy-to-parse visual format. ViewRL shows all videos, music, pictures and links tweeted by Twitter users by expanding them into preview pictures, meaning you never miss a thing.

Using ViewRL, trends can be spotted quickly and easily, a month’s worth of tweets can be scrolled through in a matter of seconds, and listed hyperlinks enable you to share your findings across all social media platforms in two clicks.

ViewRL is created by the Manchester-based creative agency Young. Previous projects include LearnSomethingEveryDay.co.uk, a website updated daily with an illustrated factoid. The project was later acquired by Penguin Books.

Implications - Twitter's explosive growth has enabled a niche of third-party services that expand on the social media site's existing functionality in an innovative way.
