The Animal Rights Foundation of Florida is getting ready for their 2009 Thanksgiving Dinner featuring Tofurkey and vegan wishbones. While Tofurkey has been around awhile, it has taken on increased importance as the world makes more eco-conscious choices.
Tofurkey Roast is a vegan meat-substitute that was first produced to give vegans and vegetarians an alternative main dish at holiday meals, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Hood River, Oregon Turtle Island Foods makes Tofurkey which is available in meals or as an entree.
The Tofurkey ‘feast’ includes, in addition to the non-engineered soy tofu-wheat roast, cranberry apple potato dumplings, giblet and mushroom gravy, wild rice-whole wheat bread crumb stuffing, and a Tofurky Jurky Wishstix (vegan wishbones).
